Teobaldo, our Director, is an Arequipeñan lawyer that attended university in Spain and Colombia. During university years, he started to work on social issues as a member of different NGOs. He worked in Foro por Colombia in the Development and Participation department and then returned to work to Arequipa, in local development projects like Projoven, and as a manager in social participation for the local government.
Jennifer is from Arequipa, and has volunteered in the UK. As someone interested in issues of equality, Jennifer is here to help you apply to HOOP and have a great volunteering experience as our Volunteer Coordinator. Feel free to ask any questions on the email below:
Our Director of Communications and Development is an Argentinean journalist that worked on transparency and social justice projects in his home country where he ran a non-profit news agency and developed nationwide anti-corruption campaigns. Lucas attended university in Buenos Aires, led the council of students, and as an AusAid scholar earned a master´s degree in public policy from the Australian National University.
Our Psychology Coordinator, Alonso, has previously worked with HIV patients and adolescents as well as having volunteered in various NGOs. He attended Universidad Católica San Pablo and has also participated in the psychology research group of the University of LaSalle. As an experienced psychologist, he works closely with the community, mainly with mothers and children, providing psychological care and counseling on parenting issues.
Tamara, our Social Work Coordinator from Spain, attended Castilla-La Mancha University and the University of Sevilla where she completed her undergraduate Social Work degree and her master’s degree in International Cooperation respectively. Before joining our team she worked for the Spanish Red Cross and coordinated an elementary school in Ireland. As our Social Work coordinator she will be providing the community with the support and tools they need to overcome the issues they have to deal with.
After volunteering with HOOP, Andres has become our youngest Program Coordinator. Despite his young age, he has volunteered with different NGOs developing social projects focused on leadership, teamwork and emotional intelligence. He also organized the Youth to Business Forum Arequipa and initiated a social project in Brazil, supported by the UN. Currently still completing his law degree at Universidad Católica San Pablo, Andrés also works with HOOP, organizing the logistics of our school including the registration process, medical campaigns and the scholarship program.
Estefania is a recent law graduate from Arequipa. As Legal Coordinator, Estefania makes sure HOOP is complying with relevant regulations and helps us with everything from managing our land title to applying for different charity status that will allow us to expand and receive international grants.
Our Accountant Assistant recently graduated from Universidad Nacional San Agustín and is in charge of budgeting, preparing reports for our senior accountant, performing clerical tasks, and ensuring all our financial records and transactions are in order.
